2025 Desktop Calendar: Backyard Chickens (5"x9")
While we may not be real farmers, we love the farming life. Half Moon Bay is home to wonderful community, organic and production farms, as well as little backyard patches like ours. For years we’ve delighted in sharing our backyard with a revolving flock of hens. They’re beautiful animals, descendants of dinosaurs. Each breed is unique, and each hen is a unique version of its breed. The purposeful way they go about their daily business is commendable, gifting us with eggs, feathers and moments of hilarity.
This past year, we have committed ourselves to our art and our community; seeing, learning, making and sharing. The scale and vibrancy of this year’s portraits are new, inspired by our travels, infused with gratitude to our teachers, friends, fellow artists and the animals we love dearly.
We hope each month’s hen brings a smile to your face. Maybe someday you’ll build a coop like we did and share your garden with your own flock.
A portion of the sales of these calendars goes to feed hungry people in our community.
With Love,
Doreen & Steve Maller
